You are always assured of a warm welcome when visiting The Swan@Stoford, which is situated near to the beautiful Cathedral City of Salisbury, and literally a ‘stones throw’ from the ancient and mystical monument that is Stonehenge.

A traditional Inn in the beautiful Wylye valley, it has provided accommodation and acted as a stopping off point for weary travellers, travelling between Bath and Salisbury, for over 150 years. Now it is a destination in its own right. Our beautiful Inn offers accommodation in the form of 9 en-suite rooms, ideal for short stays, and as a base to explore the stunning surrounding area, which has so much to offer. From walking or fishing (we have fishing rights for our guests to enjoy) to visiting places of interest such as Stonehenge, The City of Salisbury and the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat House and Safari Park and Wilton House.

Our traditional bar offers a range of 4 cask ales, very popular wine list & an extensive hot & cold drink selection in cosy surroundings & warm atmosphere. Enjoy our idyllic Riverside gardens in the summer or the log fire for cosy winter evenings. We are open 7 days a week from 8.30am serving coffee’s, cappuccino’s, & food throughout the day until 9.30pm.

Traditional home cooked food is our speciality, and we are proud of the fact that wherever possible we only use the freshest produce that is sourced locally.

For those couples looking for a stunning location and venue for their wedding reception, we are delighted to announce that we are able to offer wedding reception by the river in our marquee that can accommodate up to 70 people!

We are also able to cater for small corporate functions and clubs, private functions, and events such as christenings, birthday celebrations, family gatherings, and wakes etc or if you are looking for a fun night out with work colleagues, or a group of friends, a game of skittles in our skittle alley may be just the thing you are looking for.

We were delighted to receive this review with The Travel Editor in December 09. “Apparently William the Conqueror liked to visit Old Sarum Castle, perched high above the Salisbury Plain and site of the ancient city of Salisbury. Mind you, had The Swan Inn been around in those days, no doubt he’d have jumped at the chance to stay there instead.” Click here for whole article

Finally we offer free Wi-Fi access - it’s the ideal stop off venue to grab a bite to eat & catch up on a bit of work.
